Simple Filet Mignon

Filet mignon is a steak lover’s dream. Filet mignon is a boneless steak that is cut from the tenderloin to the most tender cut of meat. This dinner for two is sure to make you a steak lover’s dream.

Ingredients

  • 2 (8 ounce) beef tenderloin steaks cut 1 inch thick (about 1 pound total)
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons minced onion
  • 2 slices bacon

If you don;t eat pork just buy a cut of meat with more marbling, and skip the bacon.

Directions

1. Place oven rack in the highest position. Set oven to Broil.

2. Rub steaks all over with olive oil. Season steaks with garlic powder, salt and black pepper, and arrange in a single layer in a large baking dish. Wrap one slice of bacon around each steak, and secure with a toothpick.

3. Broil for 5 to 7 minutes. Turn the steaks over, and sprinkle the tops with onions. Broil for an additional 5 to 7 minutes, or until the steaks are done.
